Good to know
- No dogs. The organisers don’t allow dogs on site.
- No fireworks of your own. They’ll be confiscated and you’ll be turned away. You can bring your own sparklers (none are sold on site): use the water buckets and keep to quieter areas.
- Food and drink: hot food stalls, two racecourse bars and Warwick Lions’ hot punch.
- No muddy fields: the site is tarmac and hard standing. The fireworks go ahead in all but the strongest winds, but the bonfire may not be lit if it’s too windy. If the event is called off, it’s announced on social media and local radio, and tickets aren’t refunded.
- Accessibility: disabled parking is at the southern end of the site, most of the site is tarmac, and the display can be seen from the disabled parking spaces.
Parking and getting there
Roads around the racecourse are very busy from 5pm to 7.30pm, so arrive in good time. Warwick Racecourse suggests two nearby car parks:
- Cape Road car park, Cape Road, CV34 4NR: about a 10-minute walk.
- St Nicholas Park car park, Banbury Road, CV34 4QY: about a 15-minute walk.
The racecourse is on the western edge of the town centre, so if you’re in Warwick already, walk. Our Warwick parking guide has every car park and its prices, and live train times help you plan the trip home.

Fireworks and pets
Fireworks season runs for weeks, not just one night. The RSPCA’s advice:
- Dogs: walk them before dark, make a quiet den with bedding to hide in, close curtains and windows, and put the TV or music on. Never leave a dog tied up outside, and check gates and fences.
- Cats: keep them in from before dark with a litter tray, close the cat flap, and let them hide.
- Rabbits and guinea pigs: give them extra bedding to burrow into, and cover part of an outdoor hutch with a blanket to muffle the noise, or bring them into a quiet room or garage for the night.
- Microchips: make sure the details are up to date in case a pet bolts.
Fireworks rules
These rules from GOV.UK apply in Warwick as everywhere in England:
- No fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night (until midnight) and on New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year (until 1am).
- You must be 18 or over to buy adult fireworks, including sparklers.
- It’s against the law to set off or throw fireworks, including sparklers, in the street or any other public place.
- The police can give an on-the-spot fine of £90.
To report fireworks being used dangerously or after 11pm, call Warwickshire Police on 101 (999 if someone is in danger). For an ongoing noise problem from a neighbour, contact Warwick District Council’s environmental health team.
